Brand New to D&D?
What is D&D?
Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop roleplaying game. You play as a character in a fantasy world and decide what they do. A Game Master guides you through the story, and dice decide the outcome. No acting required, no experience needed. We teach you everything.
You've got two ways to start your adventure:
Beginner Sessions
£20 — 3 hour session
*Includes 30 mins extra play time compared to regular sessions
Tables exclusively for those new to D&D. You'll learn the ropes alongside other complete newbies.

Nothing! Just book your ticket and turn up.
On the Day
🎲 Arrive early and sign in at the bar
🎲 You'll be given a selection of
pre-made characters to choose from and give your own spin on.
🎲 Your Game Master will take you to your room and start your session at 7pm
🎲 The session includes talking through your character sheet and explaining the basic rules
🎲 We go at a relaxed pace - perfect for complete newbies
🎲 Session ends at 10pm
Regular Sessions
£15 — 2hr 30min session + 45min onboarding
All sessions are beginner-friendly! Play alongside mixed experience levels. Our GMs and players love helping newcomers.

🛡 Before You Arrive
Download the dndbeyond app. That's it - we'll walk you through everything else when you get here. If you want to think about your character's name & personality, in advance, then go for it, but if you'd rather come up with it on the day, that works too!
On the Day
🎲 Arrive early and sign in at the bar
🎲 Character creation starts at 6:15pm (~45 minutes)
🎲 After character creation, pick your table from the noticeboard
(combat-heavy or roleplay-heavy)
🎲 Session ends at 10pm
👥 Come Alone or Come with Friends
Our tables seat up to seven, and you'll play alongside other players. It's a great way to meet people.
🍺 Food & Drink
Fully stocked bar (including mead!) with delicious hot & cold snacks to keep you full and quench your thirst.
Path 2
Played D&D Before?
If you know how to play but you're new to RPG Taverns, grab a "New to RPG Taverns" Ticket. You'll create a character for our world (Aeon) and jump into a session that same evening.

How RPG Taverns Works
🎲 Drop-in, drop-out system - no campaign commitments
🎲 Come once, come weekly, come every day - whatever works for you
🎲 Perfect if you can't commit to a regular group, don't know anyone who plays, or you're new to London
🎲 Great way to find a regular group - play a few sessions, then join a guild for regular games
🎲 We run our own world called Aeon with ongoing storylines, factions, and history
🎲 Our world runs in volumes and chapters, with overarching plots and dramatic finales
🎲 Your actions can influence where the story goes - but each session also works as a standalone adventure
